Netanyahu has not reached an understanding with Syria.
Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced that contacts and meetings on the issue of Syria were held with the mediation of the United States and within the framework of bilateral consultations.
The office of the Prime Minister of the occupation regime added: These contacts did not lead to an agreement or understanding, and the aforementioned talks did not make significant progress.
This is while Netanyahu made statements on Monday morning that the regime will remain in Syria and that the security of the Druze must be guaranteed.
The Israeli regime’s Channel 14 television also announced earlier in a report that the Israeli regime will not withdraw from Syrian territory, including Jabal al-Sheikh and some other places not far from Damascus.
The Syrian Legal Center “Sajjal” announced in a report on Sunday night that the Israeli regime violated Syrian territory and airspace 218 times in November (November 10 to December 9).
The Syrian Legal Center Sajal announced in its latest report that of these, 83 were ground incursions, 36 air incursions, 35 cases of establishing checkpoints, 23 shooting incidents, 13 murders, 10 raids on citizens’ homes, 9 missile and artillery operations, and 9 cases of arrests of citizens.
According to this report, Quneitra province had the largest share of the Israeli regime’s aggression last month.
The Syrian Legal Center announced that the attack on the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside was the bloodiest Israeli aggression on Syrian soil since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government.
Last week, while visiting occupation soldiers who were injured during clashes with the Syrian people, Netanyahu called for the demilitarization of the south of the country from Damascus to the borders of occupied Palestine.
The Israeli Prime Minister has stated that the demilitarization of southern Syria is a condition for withdrawing from the heights of Jabal al-Sheikh (Hermon).
Continuing his justifications for the continuation of the occupation in Syria, he said: Israel is ready to withdraw from Mount Hermon. An agreement can even be reached with Syria, but several conditions must be met.
Continuing his interventionist statements, he said: What we expect from Syria is the creation of a demilitarized zone from Damascus to the southern borders of the country, and of course, it includes the foothills of the Hermon heights as well as the peak of this mountain.
According to IRNA, US President Donald Trump is extremely concerned about Israel’s recent military actions on Syrian soil and believes that these actions could jeopardize the historic opportunity to normalize relations between Damascus and Tel Aviv and turn Syria into a permanent enemy of Israel.
Trump also wrote on the social network Truth on Monday last week: Israel needs to maintain a strong and real dialogue with Syria.
After the fall of the Bashar al-Assad government, the Israeli army intensified its attacks on Syrian infrastructure and military centers, and in recent months, it has bombed the country’s military centers on several occasions.
Since the fall of the Assad government, the Israeli army has crossed the buffer line between the occupied Golan Heights and the Syrian mainland and continued to occupy areas near the Golan Heights in the provinces of Daraa and Quneitra.
