Netanyahu is intentionally sabotaging hostage release efforts.
At a rally held at the Begin Gate in Tel Aviv on Saturday, families of Israeli prisoners in Gaza harshly accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of obstructing all potential opportunities for their loved ones’ release.
Einaf Tsengavker, the mother of Matan Tsengavker, one of the prisoners, made a pointed statement: “The era of media deception is over. The world today knows that Netanyahu is the angel of global destruction. Over the past two years, he has destroyed any chance of reaching an agreement.” She warned Netanyahu, who was in New York at the time, saying, “If you return without an agreement, hell awaits you.”
Einaf Tsengavker emphasized, “The entire Israeli society knows that a deal proposal is on the table, Hamas has accepted it, and the world is witnessing this fact.” She criticized Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly, which only mentioned 20 Zionist prisoners in Gaza, stating, “Contrary to the constant lies of this ‘angel of destruction’ (Netanyahu), 48 families still have their loved ones in Gaza.” She urged Netanyahu to ensure that all prisoners return home, not just those he mentioned.
Itsik Horn, the father of Eitan Horn, who was kidnapped along with his brother Yair (who was released shortly thereafter), asked the Israeli Prime Minister and his cabinet, “What did you do this week to save my son’s life?” He added, “You did nothing,” and remarked, “When you spoke at the UN, everyone left the hall, and you were left stunned.”
During the rally, Omri Lifshitz, the son of Oded Lifshitz, a Zionist prisoner in Gaza who died in captivity, made a shocking allegation: “The Prime Minister has ordered the bombing of live hostages so that they are killed and their bodies are hidden forever.” He suggested that the purpose of the Gaza conflict is to distract from the historic defeat of right-wingers on October 7, asserting, “That is why Netanyahu is destroying every opportunity to free the hostages.”
The rally occurred while U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Friday night, following Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations, that “It seems that we will soon reach an agreement on Gaza.” The American network CNN reported, without specifying a timeline, that the proposal includes 21 clauses, one of which involves the release of all hostages within 48 hours and a gradual withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza. Meanwhile, Hamas announced that it had not received any new proposals.
