Netanyahu seeks to change fact-finding law, shielding Al-Aqsa storm fallout.

Yedioth Aharonot, a Zionist newspaper, reported, citing the Lebanese website Al-Ahed, that Prime Minister Netanyahu’s proposed amendment seeks to remove a clause from the current law that allows investigative committees to impose personal liability on officials or individuals.

In the new version of the law, this authority will be limited to public institutions and administrative recommendations, excluding individuals such as security officials and other authorities. The Israeli media outlet views this move as a clear attempt by Netanyahu to evade accountability for the failures and shortcomings that contributed to Operation Storm Al-Aqsa, which refers to the attack on October 7.
