Netanyahu, “surprised and disappointed” by the position of the White House against The Hague

PNN – “Politico” newspaper, referring to the “intensification of the rift between the heads of the Israeli and American regimes regarding the Gaza war”, published a part of an interview that in it, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the new stance of the White house against the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant and expressed “surprise and disappointment”.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Politico newspaper published a part of an interview that it will be broadcast next Sunday, and in the course of it, Benjamin Netanyahu will criticize the change of position of the US government and defend himself against the accusations of the International Criminal Court in an interview with Morgan Ortagus, the former spokesperson of the US State Department.

Netanyahu said in this interview: The United States said it actually supports the sanctions bill. I thought that was still the US position because there was a bipartisan consensus just a few days ago. Now you say there is a question mark and frankly I am surprised and disappointed.

John Kirby, spokesman and strategic communications coordinator of the White House National Security Council, announced on Tuesday that they oppose the sanctions imposed by the Republicans in Congress against the International Criminal Court in response to the decision of the prosecutor of this institution to request an arrest warrant against the leaders of Israel due to the war in Gaza.  Kirby said sanctions were “not the right answer.”

Kirby’s comments reflect a different view than that announced last week by Foreign Secretary Anthony Blinken; Blinken described the action of the International Criminal Court as a “totally wrong decision” and said that the administration of US President Joe Biden will work with Congress to impose possible sanctions.

According to Politico, the comments provide new evidence of a deepening rift between Israeli and US leaders, who disagree on how to conduct Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza.

The report states that the Biden administration is negotiating with Congress on the best response to the arrest warrants of the International Criminal Court, known as the ICC, against the Zionists.

As Politico points out, while Democrats are debating whether to sign the measure, Republicans are pushing a sanctions bill against the International Criminal Court.

Last May 20, Karim Khan, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, announced that he is seeking the arrest of senior officials of the Zionist regime for various charges, including the intentional targeting of civilians.

Last month, Netanyahu called these actions an insult to history in response to the investigation of Israel’s crimes at the International Criminal Court.

The Guardian newspaper also revealed in a report that the former head of the foreign intelligence agency of the Zionist regime (Mossad) has threatened the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court for investigating the war crimes of this regime.
