Netanyahu: The establishment of a Palestinian state would be a victory for Iran and Hamas.
According to Al Jazeera, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Trump at the White House as the first foreign official since the start of his presidency in the United States. Displacing Palestinians from Gaza and annexing the West Bank to the occupied territories were the main focus of Netanyahu’s discussions with Trump.
Accordingly, Netanyahu said in an interview with the Israeli Channel 14 about his meeting with the US President at the White House: Trump emphasized in his conversation with me that he is in contact with various countries to accept Palestinian refugees and implement his plan in Gaza.
Referring to the statements of Saudi officials who had stated that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state was a prerequisite for normalizing relations with the Israeli regime, he added: “I will not conclude any normalization agreement that harms Israel’s interests.”
The Israeli Prime Minister emphasized that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state after Hamas attacks us on October 7, 2023, will be a reward for terrorists. The establishment of an independent Palestinian state is only a big victory for Iran and Hamas and a big defeat for us.
Trump had previously claimed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state was not Saudi Arabia’s request. However, Riyadh issued a statement criticizing the plan to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza and calling for the implementation of a two-state solution.
Referring to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, Netanyahu added: “The second phase of this agreement will be much more complicated, but I am optimistic that we will achieve this.”
