Netanyahu’s fear of Palestine supporter demonstrations in American universities

PNN – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday described the pro-Palestinian student protests at American universities as “terrible” and said that these demonstrations “must stop.”

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from “Agence France-Presse”, Netanyahu said in a statement: “What is happening in American universities is terrible.”

Netanyahu claimed: Anti-Semitic mobs have taken over leading American universities.

“They are calling for the destruction of Israel. They are attacking Jewish students. They are attacking Jewish professors and staff. This is cruel. It has to stop,” he claimed.

While criticizing American university presidents, Netanyahu said: “The response of several university presidents to this issue was shameful and more measures should be taken.”

Protests in American universities to end Israel’s war in Gaza and send weapons to this regime continue despite police repression, and Columbia University, the center of the “Solidarity Movement with Gaza” in recent days, has asked students to end this round of rallies.

At the same time as nationwide protests in American universities in support of the people of Gaza and the end of the Israeli war and the arrest of students, US President Joe Biden, ignoring the protests, passed the $95 billion aid law to Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan, which is more than 26 billion dollars for military and security support to Israel.

Columbia University in New York, USA, which is the center of student protest rallies these days due to the Biden government’s support for Israel, has set a 48-hour deadline to end the protests after the arrest of more than a hundred students.

Columbia University has twice extended the deadline for students to protest Israel’s war in Gaza. This university has asked the students to collect their tents in the university campus in the next 48 hours.

Demonstrations of Palestinian supporters have taken over American universities. But Colombia has been the center of this solidarity movement with Gaza. This is while a large number of students have been arrested and the protests are still ongoing.
