Netanyahu’s goal in attacking Beirut is to try to defeat the Iran-US talks.
The Lebanese newspaper “Jomhuri” quoted a high-ranking source as claiming that yesterday’s Zionist attack on the suburbs of Beirut was carried out in line with two goals.
First, to impose new war conditions on Lebanon, something that neither the Lebanese government nor the resistance will accept.
Second, to cause the negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States to fail as much as possible, negotiations that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is unhappy with.
The source told the newspaper Jomhuri that the Zionists have been informed of the positive path that has been reached in the negotiations and emphasized that the regime should pay attention to the consequences of US President Donald Trump’s warning to Netanyahu, who recently announced that he would not allow Netanyahu to enter the United States into war.
The source of the newspaper Jomhuri added that it had received reports that the place targeted in the suburbs was a civilian and social place and that there was nothing in it and that the aim of the attack was, above all, to send a message.
The Jomhuri newspaper also claimed that it had received other information indicating that the Israeli Prime Minister wants to sabotage the US-Iranian talks by attacking Dahiyeh, in a situation where it seems likely that an agreement can be reached due to the optimism of the negotiating parties during and after the talks.
According to the newspaper, Netanyahu has also decided to continue the war path until the Knesset (Israeli parliament) elections to escape the internal crisis caused by the failure of the Gaza war goals and also to escape the pressures to stop the war following street demonstrations in the occupied territories, because stopping the war provides an opportunity for his opponents to hold him accountable and lead to a major political defeat and his inevitable departure from power.
