In this session, prosecutors are questioning Netanyahu about the financial corruption known as “Case 4000,” regarding the Bezak-Vala company. In the Bezak-Vala case, Netanyahu is accused of receiving state financial support from Shaul Elovitch, the largest shareholder of the Bezak telecommunications company, in exchange for saving it from bankruptcy.
In return for government support, the company has provided positive coverage in support of Netanyahu and his wife Sara on the influential news website Vala, owned by Elovitch. In addition to fraud and breach of trust, Netanyahu is also accused of paying bribes in the case.
