Netanyahu’s renewed justifications for escalating the Gaza conflict.

According to the Samaa news agency, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement claiming that the Hamas movement continues to violate the ceasefire agreement as well as Donald Trump’s “20-point plan.”

According to the office, Hamas’s true intentions and “violations” have become more apparent than ever after a roadside bomb exploded that injured an Israeli army officer.

Following these claims, Netanyahu’s office announced that Israel would give a “proportionate response” and that Hamas must be held accountable for the agreement it signed, which Tel Aviv says includes the removal of power and disarmament.

The statement described Hamas’s opposition to disarmament as a “blatant and continuous violation” of the ceasefire.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s office also reiterated the need to require Hamas to fully implement the ceasefire agreement, including removing the movement from Gaza’s sovereignty, disarmament, and what was called “uprooting extremism.” Positions that observers consider to be a repetition of maximal and unachievable conditions.

Analysts believe that the simultaneous escalation of accusations against Hamas and internal pressure on Netanyahu indicate the Israeli Prime Minister’s attempt to transfer the crisis from within to the Gaza front and use the “securitization” of the space as a tool to justify a new round of military aggression.

The claim of Hamas violating the ceasefire agreement has been raised at a time when the mediators of the agreement have repeatedly emphasized the movement’s full adherence to the ceasefire and criticized its violation by the Zionist regime.
