PNN – Hebrew media reported that the postponement of Benjamin Netanyahu’s trial was based on a ruling by the Shin Bet, which declared it impossible for him to stay at the planned location due to concerns about assassination.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Hebrew media revealed that the reason for the postponement of the trial of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a ruling issued by the Shin Bet, which prevents the prime minister from residing in a place where he had previously intended to reside due to fears of assassination.
According to the Palestinian news agency Ma’an, the Attorney General’s Office agreed to Netanyahu’s request to postpone his trial until next week.
The court explained that on Thursday it will review the latest developments related to Netanyahu’s trial for next week.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked the Jerusalem Central Court to delay his testimony in the corruption cases against him for “security and political reasons.”
In this regard, the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported that Benjamin Netanyahu’s lawyer submitted a formal request to cancel four hearings scheduled for next week, stating that the secret and emergency conditions that have recently occurred in the occupied territories and the Middle East region prevent his attendance. The request was delivered in a sealed envelope to the Attorney General’s Office to be presented to the judges on Sunday morning.
The request came after the court decided to resume hearings following the lifting of the state of emergency, while Netanyahu was scheduled to appear in Tel Aviv on Sunday to testify in the bribery, breach of trust and fraud cases known as Cases 1000, 2000 and 4000.
