Netanyahu’s war cabinet is waiting for Hamas’s response.

Netanyahu’s war cabinet is waiting for Hamas’s response to the new plan for a break in the Gaza war.
A senior Israeli official said Benjamin Netanyahu’s war cabinet is waiting for Hamas’s response to a new plan proposed for a break in the Gaza war.

A senior Israeli official told NBC News that Benjamin Netanyahu’s war cabinet is waiting for Hamas’s response to the Paris plan for a prisoner exchange and a 2-month pause in the Gaza war.

The Israeli official, who is an adviser to Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet and asked not to be named, told NBC: “Everyone is waiting for Hamas’s reaction.”

Earlier, a Qatari official said that the establishment of a comprehensive ceasefire, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the provision of security for refugees, the reconstruction of Gaza, and the new operation of prisoner exchange are among the provisions of the new plan.

Another Israeli official told NBC: “Given all the challenges ahead, it is not yet clear that this deal will be agreed upon.” “I don’t think the chance of success is more than 50 percent.”

On Thursday evening, “Majed bin Mohammad Al-Ansari”, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, claimed that a proposal was presented to Israel and Hamas at the Paris meeting. He said: “We are currently waiting for Hamas’s response.”

Israeli, American, Egyptian, and Qatari negotiators reached an agreement in Paris on Sunday on a framework to stop the war and release other Israeli prisoners held by Hamas.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken described it as “strong and convincing” in a joint press conference with his Qatari counterpart in Washington.

“Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim”, the foreign minister of Qatar, also pointed out that the negotiations regarding the Palestinian and Israeli prisoners have improved compared to the previous weeks, and said: “The current stage of the negotiations can lead to a permanent ceasefire in the future.”

Ansari further pointed out that the basis of this proposal is the nature of a humanitarian ceasefire and said: We are working on the details. We must move strongly towards an end to the war in the Gaza Strip.
