New Iraqi government: Consultations next week.
According to Al-Ma’ulouma News Agency, former Iraqi parliamentarian Hassan Fad’am said: “All evidence points to the rapid formation of the government within the deadline set by the constitution, especially since the Coordination Framework of the Iraqi Shiite Political Groups has announced the large parliamentary faction, unlike in previous periods.”
He added, “All data and political forecasts from the parties confirm that the formation of the next government will be rapid and immediate. In previous periods, the announcement of the large parliamentary faction took place after the first session of parliament, but now the Coordination Framework of the Shiite Political Groups has announced this issue after the announcement of the election results.”
Fad’am emphasized: “The speed of announcing the final election results and the formation of the large parliamentary faction are all evidence that the situation is moving towards a rapid process for forming the government within the deadline set by the constitution and selecting cabinet members.”
At the same time, another former Iraqi parliamentarian, Ayoub al-Rubaie, said: The coordination framework of the Iraqi Shiite political groups has established several special committees on government formation, including a committee to identify candidates for the prime ministership and another to consult with groups, parties, and movements to unify views on the nature of coalitions related to government formation.
He added: Consultations on this matter will begin next week, and it is likely that a series of important and intensive meetings will be held in Baghdad with representatives of various groups.
This former Iraqi parliamentarian added: Evidence indicates that the consultations will be smooth, especially since there is broad political support for accelerating the steps to form the next government.
Al-Rubaie announced: The level of complexity of the current arena is lower compared to the previous period, and this will allow the government formation process to be carried out within the stipulated time frame.
