This method is used for the first time in America and has replaced the lethal injection method.
The media reported that he was conscious and recovering until he died. According to reports, the execution of Daraza took more minutes than it should have. At first, the accused tried to hold his breath until he delayed his death for a few minutes, but the technical defect also contributed to the increase in the execution time.
The authorities of the state of Alabama have justified the use of the new method of execution by saying that the solution of injecting lethal substances is not always guaranteed, and sometimes finding the accused’s vein for injecting lethal substances is not accurate, but American jurists have also rejected the new method of execution and declared that this method is experimental and causes a painful death for the accused.
Nitrogen gas, which makes up 78% of the air that humans breathe, causes death at high concentration levels. Two other US states, Mississippi and Oklahoma, have also allowed nitrogen executions.
