PNN – Canada, in an anti-Iranian move, sanctioned 7 people under false pretenses.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, today, Saturday, February 14, the Canadian Foreign Minister announced in hostile statements against Iran that Canada will impose new sanctions against 7 Iranians under the so-called Special Economic Measures regulations.
According to a statement from the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, the individuals targeted today have been sanctioned for allegedly suppressing protesters.
Canada also claimed that it would continue its actions to confront Iran’s activities, abide by international law, and stand with the Iranian people.
With these latest actions, Canada has now sanctioned 222 Iranian individuals and 256 entities.
This anti-Iranian action by Canada comes at a time when the country, in another move in December of this year, submitted a resolution to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) under the false pretext of human rights.
Canada describes these measures as part of its commitment to universal human rights, but experts consider them political, unfair and based on misinformation, routinely pointing to Canada’s human rights record.
