PNN – The U.S. Treasury Department announced the imposition of new sanctions on vessels linked to Iran.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the U.S. Treasury Department said it has imposed new sanctions on vessels associated with Iran.

In a statement, the Treasury Department said that, claiming increased pressure on Iran’s so-called shadow fleet, 29 vessels carrying Iranian petroleum products have been targeted by the sanctions.

The department claimed: We will continue to deny Iran access to oil revenues that it uses to finance its military programs.

The U.S. State Department also repeated what it described as claims, saying: The new sanctions against Iran limit the country’s ability to export oil and its derivatives through non-transparent mechanisms. We will not hesitate to use all available tools to confront those who facilitate the illegal trade of Iranian oil.

Previously, in line with the so-called maximum pressure policy of former U.S. President Donald Trump, the United States had also imposed new sanctions on Iran’s oil network under the pretext of supporting the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a policy that has so far failed and has been unable to achieve Trump’s hegemonic and coercive objectives.
