PNN – Former British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has launched a new party aimed at attacking current Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his Labour Party.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Jeremy Corbyn, the former leader of the British Labor Party, recently announced the formation of a new party.
Corbyn and Zahra Sultanah, another founder of the party and a former Labour MP, have declared that it is time for a new kind of political party. The new party, called “Your Party,” will be rooted in communities, trade unions and social movements, and will aim to widely distribute wealth and power.
Corbyn and Sultanah also declared their support for a “free and independent Palestine” and called for an end to all arms deliveries to Israel.

Corbyn and Sultana said in a joint statement: It is time to create a new kind of political party focused on correcting social injustices and fighting a broken system that is effectively called into question when the government says there is no money for the poor, but there are billions of dollars for war.
Corbyn, 76, led the Labour Party through the 2019 general election, in which the party suffered its worst result in decades, Der Spiegel reported. He subsequently resigned as party leader. In 2020, the Labour Party expelled Corbyn for refusing to accept the findings of a committee of inquiry, which alleged that anti-Semitism had become widespread in the Labour Party under his leadership.
Corbyn won the House of Commons as an independent candidate in the July 2024 general election. Sultana also sits as an independent MP in the British institution.
When current British Prime Minister Keir Starmer became leader of the Labour Party in 2020, he broke away from the left-wing path of his predecessor Jeremy Corbyn. Starmer believed that only as a centrist force could he once again attract broad sections of the population and win a majority beyond urban centers.
He accused Corbyn of allowing anti-Semitism to flourish in the Labour Party and gradually purged party committees of his allies. He first expelled Corbyn himself from the party, leading to a final split and his departure from the party before the 2024 general election.
Meanwhile, former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and his new party are unlikely to win the next general election, but he could do major damage to Keir Starmer.
The content of Corbyn’s newly formed party also includes settling scores with the policies of the center-left British prime minister, who has been in power for a year.
The welfare state and the war in the Middle East, along with immigration policy, are two of the main issues currently dividing the left in Britain. A few weeks ago, Starmer was forced to back down on planned cuts to social services after more than 100 Labour MPs refused to support him.
Meanwhile, Starmer’s tone towards the Israeli regime has become harsher, given the worsening hunger in Gaza.
