PNN – A news website reported that the Zionist regime, in addition to its efforts to eliminate the resistance, is also seeking to destroy the Lebanese army in order to extend its control over southern Lebanon and the entire Lebanese territory.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Lebanese website An-Nashra, the outlet wrote that the Israeli regime’s rigid stance toward Lebanon reveals clear contradictions, exposing its deeper intentions that go beyond “ensuring the security of settlements,” “implementing Resolution 1701,” or “peaceful coexistence with its Lebanese neighbor.”

An-Nashra wrote that the regime’s real objective is to target, weaken, and completely paralyze the Lebanese army. Despite the international community’s trust in the Lebanese army, Israel views it with suspicion, even though global consensus considers supporting the Lebanese army the best way to fill any security vacuum in the country.

America’s concern about Israel’s attack on the Lebanese army

According to the report, Israel’s concern likely stems from its awareness of the Lebanese army’s resilience in field battles. The Zionists know that eliminating Hezbollah does not necessarily mean that southern Lebanon would become easy to control in the event of a large-scale Israeli ground operation, occupation of Lebanese lands, or attempts to seize Lebanon’s natural resources, including its oil and gas reserves.

The report added that Israeli officials are not merely seeking to destroy Hezbollah; otherwise, logic would dictate that they support the Lebanese army—the only national force capable of replacing Hezbollah and asserting state sovereignty. Therefore, it appears that Tel Aviv is pursuing deeper goals in Lebanon, one of which is maintaining control and dominance over the security landscape in the country’s south.

The Zionist regime is likely seeking to impose a new reality that includes a wide and completely demilitarized buffer zone under its supervision or according to its own conditions.

In conclusion, An-Nashra wrote that the contradiction between global confidence in the Lebanese army and Israel’s distrust of it reflects Tel Aviv’s ambitions to weaken and fragment Lebanon in order to ensure its dominance—something that calls for greater solidarity with and support for the Lebanese army.
