PNN – North Korea’s leader announced the equipping of the country’s air force with new strategic assets aimed at strengthening nuclear deterrence.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the official North Korean news agency (KCNA), Kim Jong-un announced at a ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Air Force at one of the country’s eastern bases that the country’s Air Force will be equipped with “new strategic assets” with the aim of strengthening nuclear deterrence.

The North Korean official, while praising the pilots and operational forces of the country’s air force, emphasized that the outcome of every air battle depends more on the “spirit and will of the pilots” than on equipment.
He described the Air Force as “the first military branch,” which, he said, has strong ideological and revolutionary backing.
The increased US military presence in East Asia has increased tensions between countries in the region.
Despite Seoul’s emphasis on striving for peaceful coexistence with Pyongyang, North Korean officials view South Korea’s military cooperation with the United States as a threat to their existence.
