PNN – In a speech to the North Korean parliament, Kim Jong-un announced that Pyongyang would consolidate its position as a nuclear power and called the United States the cause of “state terrorism” in the world.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, in his speech to parliament, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un referred to the war against Iran and described the United States as a global agent of “state terrorism and aggression” and said: Amidst the rise of anti-American sentiment, Pyongyang will play a stronger role in the united front against Washington. It is also up to North Korea’s enemies to choose confrontation or peaceful coexistence, and we are ready to respond to any choice.
According to the Associated Press, the North Korean leader further noted: The nation’s dignity, national interests, and ultimate victory are only guaranteed by the strongest power. Our government will continue to consolidate its completely irreversible position as a nuclear power and aggressively fight against hostile forces to shatter their provocations and plots against North Korea.
In another part of his speech, he considered the expansion of “nuclear deterrence for self-defense” necessary for the sake of national security, regional stability, and economic development, and rejected the idea that nuclear disarmament could be exchanged for economic benefits or security guarantees, continuing: North Korea has already proven that maintaining nuclear forces while pursuing development is the right strategic choice.
Kim Jong-un also said that Washington and its allies have destabilized the region by deploying strategic nuclear assets near the Korean Peninsula, adding that North Korea no longer sees itself as a country under threat and has the power to threaten others if necessary.
He also named South Korea as the most hostile country, saying Seoul is known as the most hostile country and warned Seoul that any attempt to violate North Korea’s sovereignty would be responded to brutally and without hesitation or restraint.
