Norway: International community does not accept Israel’s move to block aid to Gaza.
According to Al Jazeera, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stora emphasized in his statements that the international community cannot accept the Zionist regime’s action to prevent the entry of emergency aid to the Gaza Strip.
He emphasized that those who are saved from death in Gaza continue to live amid a profound humanitarian catastrophe.
On the other hand, Bushra Khalili, Oxfam’s policy director, emphasized in an interview with Al Jazeera that the continuous bombing and forced displacement of people have exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and created catastrophic conditions. She added that children in Gaza are facing severe malnutrition and many of them are losing their lives.
Oxfam called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, as well as the full opening of humanitarian crossings for the entry of humanitarian aid to all affected people.
Amjad Shawa, head of the Gaza NGO Network, also warned that the region has entered an advanced stage of famine, especially as the occupation regime continues to close the crossings, which has led to a severe shortage of food and humanitarian aid.
Shawa announced in televised remarks that most of the soup kitchens, on which about 40 percent of the Gaza population depends for just one meal a day, will close in the coming days due to the end of supplies, indicating an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, especially given the increase in cases of malnutrition among children and women.
He also stated that living and health conditions in Gaza have deteriorated dangerously, with more than two million Palestinians facing food insecurity and water shortages, and hospitals unable to treat the flood of wounded and sick due to a severe shortage of medicine and medical equipment.
According to Shewa, the closure of the crossings has caused the activities of most humanitarian organizations and charity kitchens to cease, depriving thousands of families of their basic necessities, a problem that has revived the threat of widespread famine in Gaza.
In this regard, the NGO Network has called for the UN and the Palestinian Authority to declare a state of famine in the Gaza Strip, and has called on the international community to take action to immediately lift the blockade and send humanitarian aid. The Network has warned of the consequences of the continued crisis in various areas, especially health and the environment.
