Norway reconsiders investment in Israeli companies.

According to Der Spiegel, the Norwegian government has announced that the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund will be audited for Israeli companies involved in the Gaza Strip war or the occupation of the West Bank.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stora described the issue as worrying, telling NRK television: “We need transparency in this matter.”

Stora, responding to a report in the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten, said that the sovereign wealth fund holds shares in Israeli engine manufacturer Bet Shamsh Engines (BSEL). The company works for the Israeli army, among other things, and is responsible for the maintenance and repair of fighter jets. BSEL did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
