Obama, Clinton and Bush will not attend Trump’s inauguration luncheon

PNN – Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, the former presidents of the United States, will not attend the luncheon of the inauguration of the president-elect of this country.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the American NBC News TV channel quoted an informed source as saying: Obama has received an invitation, but he will refuse to participate.

According to a second source, Clinton has been invited but does not plan to attend, while Bush’s office has said he has not been invited to the luncheon.

According to a third source, former Secretary of State and First Lady Hillary Clinton has also received an invitation to the inaugural luncheon, but will not attend, according to NBC News.

A spokesperson for the Trump team did not respond to a request for comment on the former presidents’ absence. However, according to the team, all three former presidents will attend Trump’s inauguration earlier in the day.

According to Obama’s office, former first ladies will also attend the swearing-in ceremony, except for Michelle Obama. No reason was given for Michelle Obama’s absence.

Michelle Obama also did not attend the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter last week, and she was the only one absent among all the wives of current and former presidents.

Donald Trump, the president-elect of the United States, announced that his inauguration ceremony on Monday, January 20, 2025, will be held inside the United States Congress building due to the extreme cold weather.

The president-elect said in a message on social media on Friday that his inauguration speech will be delivered at the US Congress due to the cold weather and the presidential parade will be held at the Capital One Arena.

Trump wrote on his social media: A wave of cold air originating from the North Pole has engulfed the United States. I don’t want people to get sick. This is a dangerous situation for tens of thousands of police forces, paramedics, police dogs and even horses and hundreds of thousands of supporters who will be outside for many hours on January 20. Either way, if you decide to attend, dress warmly.

He noted that former US President Ronald Reagan held his inauguration in 1985 in sub-zero temperatures indoors.

Trump inflicted a heavy defeat on the Democrats by winning all the key and decisive states known as the battleground states of northern Arizona, in the swing states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Nevada.

On January 6, 2025, the US Congress officially confirmed the victory of Donald Trump in the presidential election on November 5, 2024 (60th presidential election). The new US president will be sworn in on January 20, 2025.
