Obama is worried; “Biden might lose to Trump”
Barack Obama, while expressing concern about Donald Trump’s lead in the polls, asked Joe Biden to make serious changes in his campaign, otherwise the probability of the former president’s victory would increase.
About 10 months before the US presidential election, three well-informed sources told The Washington Post that Obama had warned in a private meeting with Biden about Trump’s easy competition to eliminate the Republican candidates and his return to the White House.
According to the report, Obama suggested that senior decision-makers should be sent to Biden’s campaign headquarters in Delaware, or that current staff members be allowed to make decisions about campaign activities without White House approval.
The former Democratic president did not name a specific person, but said that Biden needs people like “David Plouffe” as a strategist; Plov was Obama’s chief of staff in the 2008 election. He pointed to his 2012 election, in which some of his top advisers left the White House to join the campaign.
Trump is trying to make up for the defeat of Biden in the November 13, 1399 election in the November 15, 1403 election. He is the leading candidate of the Republicans and according to some polls, if the election is held today, he will defeat Biden.
In recent months, Obama has been using every opportunity to improve Biden’s electoral standing, and in the 15 months before the election, he participated in a fund-raising rally with Biden.
According to the Washington Post, Obama’s offer to Biden reflects the Democratic Party’s concerns that his campaign may be “unable to respond to rapid changes in the race adequately.”
Twenty days ago, amid Biden’s popularity drop in polls and controversies about his old age and frequent gaffes, the Wall Street Journal reported Obama’s concern about Trump’s victory.
A source close to Obama told the newspaper that he “knows that the race between Biden and Trump will be very close and feels that the Democrats may lose easily.”
