I took every opportunity to distinguish between the crimes committed by the Israeli army in Gaza and war crimes, and I refused to accept them. Ehud Olmert noted: But I can no longer justify these crimes, and in my opinion, the Israeli war on Gaza is a destructive, criminal war with indiscriminate killing of civilians without any limits. What the Israeli army is doing in Gaza is killing civilians excessively.
He said: The excessive killing of civilians in the Gaza Strip is incomprehensible, unacceptable and unjustified, and this war should have ended by early 2024, but it has continued without any justification or clear goal, and without a political vision for the future of the Gaza Strip and the region.
