Olmert: We must admit that Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza

PNN – Ehud Olmert, acknowledging the Israeli regime’s war crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip, said that Netanyahu’s criminal gang, with personal goals, continues an aimless war and has inflicted the greatest damage on Israel in the past seven decades.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Following the admissions by Zionist circles of the regime’s war crimes in the Gaza Strip and the consequences of the war of attrition against this strip without achieving any of the declared goals, Ehud Olmert, the former Prime Minister of the occupying regime, described the current war against Gaza as meaningless, aimless, without a specific plan, and without a chance of success, saying: Israel has never experienced a war like this since its founding, and the criminal gang led by current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has created an unprecedented and dark record for Israel.

The war against Gaza continues with personal goals

Ehud Olmert stated in an article published by the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz: What is happening in Gaza today is a war with personal political motivations unrelated to the declared goals of the war, and its direct result is turning the Gaza Strip into a disaster zone.

He continued: Strong accusations from around the world against Israel and its military’s behavior in Gaza, including accusations of genocide and war crimes, continue. I have previously denied all of these accusations in public debates, both at home and abroad.

The former prime minister of the occupying regime clarified: In interviews I conducted in Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, England, and elsewhere in the international arena, I had no hesitation in rejecting these accusations, and I repeatedly and firmly emphasized that Israel has not committed war crimes in Gaza. I took every opportunity to distinguish between the crimes committed by the Israeli army in Gaza and war crimes, and I refused to accept them. I also took advantage of the international negligence and indifference to the victims in Gaza and the unbearable human cost we have imposed there.

Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza

Ehud Olmert noted: But I can no longer justify these crimes, and in my opinion, the Israeli war on Gaza is a destructive, criminal war with indiscriminate killing of civilians without any limits. What the Israeli army is doing in Gaza is killing civilians excessively.

He said: The excessive killing of civilians in the Gaza Strip is incomprehensible, unacceptable and unjustified, and this war should have ended by early 2024, but it has continued without any justification or clear goal, and without a political vision for the future of the Gaza Strip and the region.

Continuing in this article, while attempting to somehow justify Israel’s crimes in Gaza and to link these war crimes to the deliberately malicious and irresponsible policy dictated by the current cabinet headed by Netanyahu, rather than to the general and barbaric nature of Israel, Olmert emphasized: The Israeli army forces, in many cases, attack civilians in a very aggressive and blind manner, without receiving any instructions or advice from the highest levels of military command. Netanyahu also tries to hide the nature of the orders he issues in order to escape legal and criminal responsibility at the appropriate time.

The article continues: The sycophants around Netanyahu boast about starving the people of Gaza, saying that all Gazans support Hamas and therefore there are no moral or operational constraints to prevent their complete destruction.

Olmert warned that Israel would face deadly financial and diplomatic consequences for circumventing the procedures of the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Also, the criminal gang and thugs of Netanyahu’s cabinet and his poisonous propaganda machine are trying to portray the actions taken against Israel as anti-Semitic, but the reality is that no foreign enemy has caused as much damage to Israel over the past 77 years as the cabinet consisting of Netanyahu, Itamar Ben-Governor, and Bezalel Smotrich.
