PNN – While criticism of the Israeli regime’s crimes in the Gaza Strip is increasing from various groups in the West, hundreds of British artists have also called on their government to impose an arms embargo on the regime in an open letter.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, calls for an arms embargo on Israel due to crimes in the Gaza Strip continue from various German parties.
Franziska Brantner, a leader of the Green Party, is also calling for a ban on the export of weapons that violate international law due to the crimes of the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip.
He said: No German weapons can be used in Gaza in violation of international law, and therefore a ban on arms exports to the Zionist regime is necessary.
He believes that the German government should follow up Friedrich Mertz’s criticism of Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip with practical action. Brantner said in this regard: If the Chancellor’s finding is that Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip violate international humanitarian law, then this should have consequences for German foreign policy.

German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz has recently adopted a new and harsh tone towards the Zionist regime.
Mertz said at the European World Peace Forum on Monday: To be honest, I no longer understand the Israeli army’s attack on the Gaza Strip. He added: The fact that the Palestinian civilian population has been affected to such an extent in recent days can no longer be justified by the fight against Hamas.
Brantner also pointed to possible further measures, including more consistent action against Israel’s settlement policy and tougher sanctions against those who directly commit or order violent crimes against the Palestinian population, including in the West Bank. He said this could also affect Israeli ministers such as Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich or Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gwer.
There is increasing criticism of the Israeli regime’s actions in the Gaza Strip in many Western countries, including the UK.
Hundreds of British artists call for arms boycott of Israel
Meanwhile, although British Prime Minister Keir Starmer indirectly threatened to boycott the Zionist regime a few days ago if it did not stop its attacks on Gaza, hundreds of British artists are now demanding practical action and have called for a halt to the delivery of British weapons to Israel.
Pop singer Dua Lipa and more than 300 other celebrities have signed an open letter calling on Starmer to end Britain’s complicity in the atrocities in the Gaza Strip. Many famous British artists, including Tilda Swinton, have signed the petition.
The signatories of the letter called on the British government to provide unrestricted humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip, broker an immediate and lasting ceasefire, and immediately halt all arms sales to Israel.
The letter, addressed to the British Prime Minister, states: We cannot call the situation in the Gaza Strip intolerable and continue sending weapons.
Starmer had previously described the situation in the Gaza Strip as intolerable and condemned the Israeli attack on the Palestinian territory, which has intensified since mid-May.
