Opinion of the ruling elements of Syria about the country’s constitution.
According to Arabi 21, Yasser al-Jundi, spokesman for the political affairs department affiliated with terrorist elements in Syria, announced that a committee will be formed to review the country’s constitution.
He added: “The provisions of the Syrian constitution will be reviewed. Our priority in the current situation is to activate the governing institutions in Syria and return life to its normal course.”
Al-Jundi also referred to the sanctions imposed on Syria and said: “The Syrian people are suffering the most from these sanctions and they must be lifted.”
Geir Pedersen, the UN Special Envoy for Syria, also met and talked with Abu Muhammad al-Julani, the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, yesterday.
In the meeting, al-Julani said: “The change of government in Syria necessitates a change in the UN Security Council resolution of 2015 based on new realities.”
