Pakistan and China call for Afghanistan to be cleansed of terrorist groups

PNN – Pakistan and China, in a joint statement, urged Kabul to take more serious measures to cleanse Afghanistan of terrorist groups.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing the Public Relations Department of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, and Wang Yi, the Foreign Minister of China, issued a joint statement at the conclusion of the seventh round of strategic dialogues.

Based on this statement, both sides expressed their readiness to continue utilizing the trilateral foreign ministers’ dialogue of China-Afghanistan-Pakistan, as well as the China-Bangladesh-Pakistan cooperation mechanism, to achieve new outcomes and accomplishments.

The two sides agreed to maintain close communication and coordination regarding the Afghanistan issue and to cooperate with the international community to encourage Kabul to establish an inclusive political framework focused on sustainable development, good neighborly relations with its neighbors, and integration into the international community.

The Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and China also called for more tangible and verifiable actions to dismantle and eliminate all terrorist organizations based in Afghanistan.

The statement emphasized: Kabul must prevent terrorist organizations from using Afghan soil to carry out terrorist activities and jeopardize the security of other countries.
