Pakistan and Iran: Target of $10 billion in joint trade.
Syed Murad Ali Shah, in a meeting with Akbar Eissazadeh, the new Consul General of Iran in the port city of Karachi, the capital of Sindh province, today said: Iran is a brotherly and Muslim country with which Pakistan, especially Sindh province, has deep historical and strong relations.
Expressing his satisfaction with the current level of relations between Iran and Pakistan, he addressed the new Consul General of our country and said that we are confident that more effective steps will be taken during your term to expand cooperation, especially in the field of trade, focusing on the capacities of Sindh province and the provinces of Iran.
Murad Ali Shah announced the strong commitment of the Sindh government to support future cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and added: The provincial cabinet will soon meet with the Iranian Consul General and follow up on new initiatives to develop relations.
In addition, the launch of direct flights from Karachi to Tehran was discussed, and the Sindh Chief Minister stated that such flights will help boost religious tourism and encourage private companies to start new airline activities.
