PNN – Pakistan, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, has stressed its demand for the formation of a comprehensive government in Syria under UN support and ensuring the consolidation of the country’s unity and national sovereignty.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Pakistan National TV, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram said in a speech at the Security Council meeting on the situation in Syria: We demand the presence of representatives from all sections of the Syrian society in an inclusive government.
He stated: In order to preserve the unity and national sovereignty of Syria, the formation of an inclusive government is inevitable and this process must be supported by the United Nations.

The permanent representative of Pakistan, whose country has been elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2 years, emphasized: Peaceful transfer of government in a comprehensive and solid way is necessary to advance the political, security and welfare issues of the Syrian people.
He also welcomed the positive words of the officials of the ruling movement in Syria and their guarantees.
Last week, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, referring to the activeness of the country’s embassy in Damascus, said that Islamabad has not established any direct relationship with the ruling movement in Syria.
The armed opposition in Syria started their operations in the northwestern, western and southwestern areas of Aleppo from November 27, 2024, with the aim of removing Bashar al-Assad from power, and finally after 11 days, they took control of the city of Damascus and Bashar al-Assad left the country.
