Pakistan Declares Israeli Control Over West Bank Illegal and Condemns It.
From the Public Relations Office of the Spokesperson of the Foreign Office of Pakistan, Islamabad strongly condemned the illegal attempt by the Israeli parliament to claim sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.
The statement of the Foreign Office of Pakistan said, This deplorable act is a clear violation of international law and demonstrates Israel’s continued disregard for the rights of the Palestinians and international norms.
Such deliberate and provocative actions highlight the systematic efforts of an occupying regime to undermine peace efforts and perpetuate its illegal occupation. These unilateral actions represent dangerous moves that jeopardize regional stability and the prospects for a just and lasting settlement.
Pakistan called on the international community to take prompt and decisive action to hold Israel accountable for its violations of UN Security Council resolutions and international humanitarian law. These actions neither recognize nor change the internationally recognized status quo in the occupied Palestinian territory.
The Foreign Office added, “The country reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination. We strongly support the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and viable Palestinian state based on the pre-June 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, under relevant UN resolutions.”
According to IRNA, the Knesset (Israeli parliament) on Wednesday approved a draft bill on the regime’s sovereignty over the West Bank and the Jordan Valley by 71 votes out of 120.
The Israeli parliament’s approval of the draft bill is a step towards annexing the West Bank to the regime, and although it does not have direct legal effect, it reflects a clear approach within the regime regarding the annexation of these areas.
The bill was presented by the ruling coalition before the start of the Knesset recess and sparked a wave of international condemnation.
