Pakistan: No plans to join Gaza force; Caribbean issues require peaceful resolution.
Tahir Hussain Andrabi, in his weekly press conference in Islamabad today, in response to some media reports about the possible visit of the Pakistani army chief to Washington with the agenda of sending troops to Gaza under the so-called international peacekeeping force, said that he had no information about any visit by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the army chief and chief of defense forces of Pakistan, to Washington.
He continued that Palestine is a priority issue in Pakistan’s foreign diplomacy, and the country is in constant contact with important regional and international players regarding the developments in Palestine.
Regarding any final decision of his country to send troops to Gaza as an international peacekeeping force, the spokesperson for the Pakistani Foreign Ministry stated that we have not yet taken an independent decision in this regard.
In response to the US threats against Venezuela, he also said that Islamabad wants a peaceful resolution of the issues between Washington and Caracas.
