PNN – Pakistan’s Defense Minister announced that his country had entered “open war,” stating that the country’s patience with the Taliban had run out.
Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif declared “open war” against the Taliban government in Afghanistan following recent border clashes between the two countries’ forces.
He wrote in a post on the social network X (formerly twitter): Our patience has run out. Now it is open war between us and you. These harsh statements were made after the Taliban claimed that their forces had killed a number of Pakistani soldiers and captured a number of others in a border operation.
In return, Pakistan carried out airstrikes on areas in Kabul and Kandahar, with Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi describing the attacks as a “befitting response” to the Taliban’s “blatant aggression.” A large ammunition depot in Nangarhar province has reportedly been destroyed, and attacks on other targets are continuing.
Also during these attacks, Taliban military installations in Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia were targeted. According to sources, the report also stated that several Taliban positions were targeted in the Kurram sector, killing eight Taliban fighters.
According to confirmed information, about 44 Taliban members have been killed in this operation so far.
Pakistan has announced that this operation is a response to the unprovoked actions of the Afghan Taliban along the border, and airstrikes are continuing.
