Pakistan protested to Kyrgyzstan

PNN – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan protested the events against the students of that country in the city of Bishkek by calling the chargé d’affaires of the Kyrgyz embassy and asked Kyrgyzstan to guarantee the safety of Pakistani nationals while being concerned about the recent violence.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, from the public relations office of the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, the director general of the ECO and Central Asian countries organization in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country called the Chargé d’affaires of Kyrgyzstan today and announced the level of protest of the Islamabad government regarding last night’s violence against Pakistani students in the city of Bishkek.

This Pakistani official emphasized: The government of Islamabad takes the issue of safety and health of its citizens all over the world very seriously and will take all necessary measures to ensure their well-being.

He added that the government and people of Pakistan are very concerned about the situation of its nationals, including students, in Kyrgyzstan, and demands the host government to take all possible measures to ensure the safety and security of Pakistani students and citizens living in the Kyrgyz Republic.

At the same time, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan announced: The authorities of Kyrgyzstan have expressed their regret for last night’s violent incidents against foreigners, including Pakistanis, in Bishkek and have pledged to punish the perpetrators while conducting an immediate investigation.

According to this report, there are rumors that several Pakistani students were injured in the capital of Kyrgyzstan following bloody clashes between Kyrgyz students and foreign students.

The ambassador of Pakistan in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, asked Pakistani students to stay in their dormitories until the situation is fully under control and avoid going outside their residences.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan also announced that this country and its embassy in Bishkek are in contact with the local authorities of Kyrgyzstan and providing security for Pakistani students is the most important priority of the Islamabad government.

It is said that there are about 1,000 male and female Pakistani students in Bishkek. The Prime Minister of Pakistan called the ambassador of this country in Kyrgyzstan and asked him to take care of the situation of the affected students in the field.
