PNN – Pakistan signed dozens of documents and memorandum of understanding worth 30 billion dollars for the export of its military equipment and defense products during the “Ideas” international arms exhibition, which was held in the port city of Karachi with the participation of 53 countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the international exhibition of defense and military achievements known as Ideas 2024 ended yesterday evening in the port city of Karachi located in the south of Pakistan.
Representatives and exhibitors from 53 countries participated in this international event. Meanwhile, 17 countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, participated in the Karachi exhibition for the first time in the form of pavilions or booths.
General Chirag Haider, the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Defense Production of Pakistan announced at the closing press conference of the 12th International Arms Exhibition in Karachi that the major companies of defense production, military equipment, drones and radar equipment of this country succeeded in signing several export memorandums worth 30 billion dollars with friendly countries.
Referring to Pakistan’s export of one billion and 300 million dollars in the field of defense industry in the last three years, he added: In total, taking into account the export contracts of the previous period of Ideas Exhibition, Pakistan has succeeded in signing memorandums of understanding worth 36 billion dollars.
This Pakistani defense official stated that the memorandum made with the countries present at the exhibition will be converted into export orders in the next stages and will enter the operational phase within a period of one to three years.
Major General Asad Nawaz Khan, Director General of Pakistan’s Defense Export Development Organization (DEPO) also said that the country has signed 82 memorandums of understanding with representatives of different countries, the most important of which is between Turkey and Pakistan’s Heavy Weapons Manufacturing Factories (POF).
According to this report, the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Support on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran set up its pavilion at the Pakistan International Arms Exhibition.
During these four days, many Pakistani military officials, experts in the field of electronic warfare and drones, as well as participants from foreign countries, during their visit to the pavilion of the Ministry of Defense and Support of the Iranian Armed Forces, got to know the defense and military achievements of our country.
