PNN – In response to the legal consequences of the country’s delay in advancing the joint gas project with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan stated that Islamabad is in contact with Tehran in this regard.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Mumtaz Zahra said today in her weekly press conference in Islamabad that Iran and Pakistan are in contact with each other regarding the gas pipeline project.
In response to a question about the legal consequences of the delay in advancing the Iranian gas pipeline and Tehran’s right to receive a fine or refer to the arbitration court, she stated that this issue is related to the Ministry of Petroleum of Pakistan and they should be asked.
Mumtaz Zahra added that Pakistan has always said that it wants to resolve all issues through friendly consultations.

Pakistani news sources recently claimed that Tehran informed Islamabad of its decision to refer to the International Court of Arbitration regarding the joint gas project with Pakistan.
According to this report, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, in continuation of her statements today, explained the positions of this country regarding the latest developments in the Middle East, the war in Gaza and the situation in Afghanistan.
She said that Pakistan does not want any new conflict in the Middle East and insists on peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Mumtaz Zahra strongly condemned the new crimes of the occupying Israeli regime in Khan Yunis and Gaza and called for the immediate action of the international community to hold the Zionists accountable and stop the crimes of this regime.
Regarding the debate on the recognition of the caretaker government of Afghanistan, she also said that Islamabad will take any decision in this regard with its regional partners, and currently it has not taken any decision to recognize the Afghan government.
