Pakistan: We are not looking for a conflict with Afghanistan.
Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said about the recent air attack on Afghanistan and subsequent border clashes between the two countries: using military force is the last option. We do not want an armed conflict with Afghanistan.
In a conversation with “Voice of America” about Pakistan’s levers to put pressure on Afghanistan, he said that Pakistan can block the passage and commercial transit routes between Afghanistan and India.
These statements were made on the morning of Monday, March 28, when Pakistan targeted areas in Paktika and Khost with airstrikes, which resulted in the death of eight civilians, including women and children.
