Pakistan: We are reviewing media reports on developments in Afghanistan.
Afghan media and social media accounts close to Pakistani military sources claimed that airstrikes in Kabul were carried out by Pakistan, targeting anti-Pakistan elements affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan group.
Some of these reports indicate the death of Noor Wali Mehsud, the main leader of the Pakistani Taliban, along with some of his fighters, but others have denied the news of his death, saying that Noor Wali is alive and has released his audio file, in which he mentioned the date and day (Friday, October 10).
Meanwhile, officials from the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defense told the country’s media that they are aware of news related to the events in Afghanistan and are investigating it.
Some accounts close to Pakistani security services on social media claimed that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan leader was killed and that his audio file was nothing more than a projection produced and disseminated by elements of the Pakistani Taliban using artificial intelligence.
This comes as the escalation of terrorist attacks, especially against Pakistani security forces in the border areas with Afghanistan, has once again led to an increase in tensions between the two restless neighbors.
The Pakistani Prime Minister has once again warned the caretaker government of Afghanistan, and the Pakistani Defense Minister announced in the country’s parliament yesterday that the time has come to return all Afghan citizens to their country.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani Army’s Public Relations Office issued a statement today confirming the killing of 30 terrorists who were involved in Wednesday’s attack on security forces in the Orakzai region.
