The Prime Minister of Pakistan also praised the recent decision of the government of this country to recognize Palestine during a phone call with his Irish counterpart, Simon Harris.

He said that Ireland’s decision will send a message of hope and solidarity to innocent Palestinians who are suffering from Israel’s barbaric crimes. It would also go a long way in promoting the Palestinian cause and encourage other countries to follow Ireland’s approach.

Shahbaz Sharif added that Pakistan has always defended the resolution of the Palestinian issue in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations and considers it the only way to establish lasting peace in the Middle East.

He emphasized Pakistan’s strong commitment to support the Palestinian people’s just fight against Israeli occupation and to obtain a free and independent Palestinian state with the capital of Quds Sharif.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan also today welcomed the decision of 3 European countries (Spain, Norway and Ireland) to recognize the state of Palestine and added: The time has come for Palestine to be accepted as a permanent member of the United Nations and the Security Council must play a role in removing the obstacles in achieving this long-standing goal.

According to this report, Judge Nawaf Salam, the head of the International Court of Justice, said today that South Africa has requested the court to take additional measures regarding the military operations in Rafah.

Referring to the deterioration of the living conditions of the residents of the Gaza Strip, he said: the situation in Rafah after several weeks of bombing is catastrophic, and since the beginning of the ground attack, about 800,000 people have been displaced.

The head of The Hague Tribunal added: According to the Genocide Prohibition Treaty, any operation in Rafah may lead to partial or total destruction in this city, and Israel must immediately stop military attacks on Rafah. From our point of view, any military operation in Rafah will cause total destruction in the region.
