Pakistani FM consults with NATO chief on security, terrorism.

Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, during his official visit to Brussels, the capital of Belgium, today met with Mark Rutte, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the status of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on issues of common interest, including peace and security, terrorism, climate change, and regional and global developments.

The NATO Secretary General appreciated what he called Pakistan’s contribution to regional peace and stability and acknowledged the country’s efforts in combating terrorism.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister, emphasizing his country’s desire and efforts for a peaceful and stable South Asia, stressed the importance of dialogue and constructive cooperation.

He stated that Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism is unwavering, while this threat continues to confront his country, which is mainly supported and implemented from outside Pakistan’s borders.

Senator Ishaq said that the Pakistani government is actively implementing measures to counter these threats.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister also met with some senior officials of the European Union during his official visit to Brussels.
