Pakistan Army Public Relations; Admiral Naveed Ashraf also met with the US Assistant Secretary of State for Political and Military Affairs in Washington.
He also attended separate meetings with the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations and the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard and visited the National Defense University of the country.
In these meetings, it was agreed to develop defense cooperation and a partnership to ensure maritime security. The Pakistani Navy Chief explained his country’s perspective on the challenges facing maritime and territorial security in the region.
The Pakistani military announced that Admiral Naveed Ashraf’s visit to the United States is a step towards developing relations between the two countries’ navies in various fields.
The exchange of high-level military delegations between Islamabad and Washington has increased in recent years.
The Pakistani Air Force Commander held meetings with US military officials, Pentagon officials, and some political officials in the United States in early July of this year, during an official visit to the United States, and discussed deepening strategic and defense cooperation, as well as regional and international developments.
General Zaheer Ahmed Babar’s visit, which is the first visit by a high-ranking official from these forces to the United States in the past decade, comes less than two weeks after the visit of five-star general Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the commander of the Pakistani army, to the United States and his meeting with President Donald Trump.
