PNN – Human rights defenders and supporters of Palestine in Canada complained to the government and demanded a ban on the export of military goods and technologies to the Israeli regime.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Reuters news agency quoted the statement of the plaintiffs and wrote that in a lawsuit filed in a Canadian federal court, it is argued that the country’s laws prevent the export of military items to Israel because of the “significant risk” of violating international law and committing serious acts of violence against women and children by the regime.
According to the plaintiffs, Ottawa has issued new authorizations for the export of more than 21 million dollars of military items to Israel, which is more than the value of authorizations last year.
According to Reuters, in the midst of the Gaza war, NATO member states, the United States and the Netherlands are facing lawsuits over the export of weapons to Israel.

A Dutch court last month (February) ordered the government to stop all exports of F-35 fighter parts to Israel due to concerns about violating international laws.

Last January, a group of Canadian lawyers in the field of international human rights asked the government to immediately stop all arms exports to Israel.
