Palestinian ambassador in India: The international community has ignored Palestine.
According to Sahil Online of India, Adnan Abul Hijah, the Palestinian ambassador in India, said that the international community has ignored what is going on against the Palestinian people. He also said that Israel’s main goal in the current conflict in Gaza is to clear the area of Palestinians.
In a meeting about the recent verdict of the International Court of Justice regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Palestinian ambassador in India emphasized that the international community should act quickly to find a political solution to this conflict.
Adnan Abul Hijah said: “The current government of Israel under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is considered the most extreme government in the history of this regime, and two million and three hundred thousand people in Palestine have been living in an open prison for 17 years now.”
He added, “What is the purpose of this aggression? The goal is to drive people out of Palestine. This is the main goal of the Israeli government. For this reason, they have destroyed more than 80% of the buildings in the Gaza Strip.”
In this ceremony, some leaders and activists of the opposition faction in India declared solidarity with Palestine and demanded an immediate ceasefire. They also accused the Indian government of not taking a stand in this regard.
Salman Khurshid, the leader of the Indian Congress, while expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people, said, “We feel the pain of all the children, women, and people of Palestine. We also know that this can happen to anyone else. It may happen between us here tomorrow. This condition can occur anywhere else in the world. How should we stop it? We have to stop this situation while it is new.”
He said: “Our democratic government must be responsible in this regard. “India has long been tied to the cause of Palestine.”
