Palestinian Media Association Director: Israel Treats Journalists as Military Targets.

In an interview with Shahab News Agency, Yassin explained that the occupiers target journalists even during a ceasefire, proving that Israel treats journalists as military targets, not as civilians protected by international law.

He added that this crime exposes the lie of the ceasefire declared by Israel, and that targeting journalists during this “calm” shows the occupiers’ disregard for any legal or moral constraints.

The journalist called for urgent international action to launch an independent investigation into the targeting of journalists, classify it as a war crime, and put pressure on international mediators and organizations to include the protection of journalists in any ceasefire agreement.

Yassin called for the activation of field protection by providing equipment and establishing safe corridors, and deploying international monitoring teams to ensure that Israel adheres to its commitment to stop its attacks. He stressed that the global silence encourages the occupiers to continue their crimes against journalists.

The Israeli army, violating the ceasefire and unleashing a wave of violence, killed four Palestinians, including a child and a journalist, and wounded at least 15 others with artillery attacks and shootings in various areas of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening.

The government information office in Gaza announced that with the martyrdom of another journalist, the number of Palestinian journalists martyred in Gaza since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the region has increased to 257.
