In this regard, two of the leaders of the Palestinian resistance announced in an interview with Al Jazeera today that the humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza can be extended and there is a possibility of expanding the exchange of prisoners.
Hamas is serious about reaching a comprehensive agreement for the exchange of prisoners
Khalil al-Hiya, a member of the political office of the Palestinian Hamas movement, said in this context that there is a positive atmosphere in the prisoner exchange deal and we emphasize the necessity of adhering to all the provisions of this deal.
He pointed out that the Zionist regime did not adhere to its commitments regarding the ceasefire agreement, Hamas was trying to return women and children to their families from the first day, and we are trying to release more civilian prisoners.
Referring to the possibility of extending the ceasefire, this Hamas leader said that this issue is related to the security of more prisoners and that Hamas is serious about reaching a comprehensive agreement for the exchange of prisoners.
Regarding the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, Al-Hiya stated that Hamas’s demand is to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people and allow aid to enter the Gaza Strip. We criticize the United Nations for not fulfilling its duties towards the people of Gaza and we ask the mediators to put pressure on the United Nations to send humanitarian aid to all areas of Gaza.
