PNN – Emil Michael, the US Undersecretary of War for Research and Engineering, said the Pentagon is planning to mass-produce Lucas drones, which are copies of the Shahed-136 kamikaze drone.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Bloomberg, Michael said at a defense industry conference in Washington on Tuesday: The idea is to mass produce them in this country and have the capacity to increase production.

Describing drones as “a useful tool in the arsenal,” Michael added: They’ve worked very well so far.

The news agency did not provide further details. In early March, the Pentagon publicly confirmed that such drones were being used in the US campaign against Iran.

Lucas is the Iranian version of the Shahed-136. It weighs up to 600 kilograms and has a delta-shaped wing measuring approximately 2.5 meters by 3 meters.

Pentagon officials have described these drones as essential in this conflict.
