Pentagon: We have no plans to leave Iraq.
The spokesperson of the US Department of Defense said on Monday evening that the country has no plans to withdraw its troops from Iraq.
“Patrick Ryder”, the spokesman of the US Department of Defense, said on Monday evening that the country has no plans to withdraw its troops from Iraq.
“There are no withdrawal plans at this time that I’m aware of,” Ryder explained during a Pentagon press conference citing ISIS. “We continue to focus on defeating ISIS.”
According to “Reuters” news agency, he claimed that 2,500 American soldiers were present in this country at the invitation of the Iraqi government, and claimed that he had no notification from Baghdad to the US Ministry of Defense about the decision to expel the country’s soldiers.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi government announced last week that it plans to start the process of expelling the US-led international coalition from this country.
Previously, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, in response to the repeated violations of the American coalition’s sovereignty, announced the government’s serious and “irreversible” determination to expel the American invaders, and the resistance groups demanded a guarantee from Baghdad to fulfill this promise.
