Petition with 1,200 signatures from Arab intellectuals addressed to the Arab League summit.
According to the Quds Al-Ikhbariya website, more than 1,200 Arab and Palestinian political thinkers signed a petition addressed to the Arab League summit scheduled for February 27 (two days away), calling for practical measures to confront the plans to displace Palestinians in Gaza.
In this petition, the signatories stressed the need to translate the Arab consensus against the forced displacement of Palestinians into tangible measures and called on Arab leaders to take immediate and practical decisions instead of issuing statements of condemnation.
The main demands expressed in this petition are as follows:
– Taking immediate measures to prevent the imposition of any new reality in Gaza by using all possible means of pressure.
– Supporting Egypt and Jordan and assisting these two countries against US pressure.
– Taking immediate action to completely stop the aggressions, break the siege, open the Gaza crossings unconditionally, and ensure the continued entry of humanitarian aid.
– Establish a national fund for the reconstruction of Gaza and counter the occupiers’ plans for the forced displacement of Palestinians.
– Direct responsibility of Arab countries in transforming Gaza into a livable area.
– Launch an Arab and international diplomatic movement to prosecute the occupiers for their crimes.
– Stop any normalization of relations with the occupiers and cancel any political or economic cover that may be abused to implement their plans.
– Strengthen the official position of Arab countries by launching a broad popular movement in support of Palestine.
– Form a Palestinian national unity government to manage Gaza and the West Bank, advance the relief and reconstruction process, and support the stability of the Palestinian people.
– Establish a network of financial and political support to encourage the Palestinian Authority to resist US pressure and adhere to the national consensus.
