PNN – Politico website wrote that a survey of 15 countries, including five of America’s major Asian trading partners, shows that Donald Trump’s trade strategy has confused diplomats.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Politico, citing the results of a survey, emphasized the widespread confusion among diplomats about the Trump administration’s trade strategy.
The media outlet added: Trump administration officials are negotiating trade agreements with some of the country’s selected allies, while most of the countries subject to Trump’s tariffs are unaware of the US president’s demands on them.
The US government has begun negotiations with more than 70 countries in a tight 90-day timeframe amid turmoil in stock markets and growing discontent among Americans.

Politico, citing two White House officials who asked not to be named, wrote: The Trump administration is so far focused on serious negotiations with countries like Vietnam, India, South Korea and Japan, which have been strategically chosen to counter China.
Another official familiar with the US government’s tactical strategies, who also asked to remain anonymous, confirmed the Trump administration’s strategy.
The media outlet noted: This shows that most countries facing unprecedented tariffs on exports to the United States are in limbo.
Trump recently suspended the tariffs, but the 10% tariff that was imposed on April 2nd remains in place.
The Trump administration’s initial focus is on Asian countries with ties to China, indicating that the US government aims to curb what it says is widespread illegal shipping, which involves Chinese goods being transported through third countries such as Vietnam and Cambodia in an attempt to circumvent Beijing’s trade restrictions.
