PNN – “Politico” magazine discussed Trump’s approach to the Middle East and possible agreement with Iran in an article about Donald Trump’s second term as the 47th president of the United States of America on January 20.
According to Pakistan News Network’s report from the “Politico” website, Ehud Barak, the former prime minister of the Zionist regime, claimed that the new US administration may enter into continuous talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin about Ukraine, Iran and the Middle East.
With this introduction, this publication wrote: Barak’s statements, which were raised during an exclusive interview with Politico, raise an interesting question. If, as it seems, Donald Trump, the president-elect of the United States, maintains his desire to stop the wars, is it possible that the conditions for an agreement between Iran and the United States will be formed?
According to Politico, Trump’s recent cabinet picks indicate that such an agreement is unlikely. Marco Rubio, his choice for the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs, is one of the hard-line figures towards Iran. Mike Waltz, the choice of the President-elect of the United States for the position of National Security Advisor, is no different from Rubio.
In a recent interview, in response to a question about whether he wants to change the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Donald Trump claimed: We cannot engage in such work at all. Let’s face it, we can’t even manage ourselves.

He, who was elected as the 47th president of the United States after Joe Biden in the November 5, 2024 election, also claimed that he wants Iran to be a very successful country, but they should not have nuclear weapons.
This media added: Ehud Barak suggests that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be tempted to escalate tensions against Iran.
Barak has also claimed that Netanyahu might attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, something that Biden has dissuaded him from doing, according to Politico.
Pointing out that, however, the former prime minister of the Zionist regime doubts that Trump is keen on this issue, this publication quoted Barak as saying: My guess is that Trump’s reaction will be to not do it now.
The Politico report added: However, despite Trump’s choice of hard-liners for his national security team, Barack believes that it is Trump himself who will set the course and that they will all follow faithfully.
Pointing out that Trump is unpredictable, Barak said: It is not inconceivable that, despite appearing very hard on Iran, the isolationist mindset of this new [US] administration will push them towards a much broader agreement.
Citing the statements of the former prime minister of the Zionist regime, this media claimed that this “big agreement” could include Trump’s interconnected talks with Putin about Ukraine, Iran and the Middle East. Barak also claimed: “This will probably include a new nuclear deal with Iran with international support.”
