Pope Francis: Global democracy is not doing well’
According to Al Jazeera network, the leader of Catholics in the world warned about the state of democracy in the world.
“Pope Francis” announced on Sunday that populist policies in the world harm global democracy.
Speaking at the Roman Catholic Church’s annual conference on social affairs, Pope Francis stressed that many people feel deprived of democracy and that the poor and weak are left to fend for themselves.
While condemning polarization and partisanship in the world, the leader of Catholics in the world added that it is clear that democracy is not in good condition in today’s world.
Pope Francis went on to say that the crisis of democracy has gripped different nations.
Before the European Parliament elections last month, Catholic bishops in several countries warned about the rise of populism and nationalism.
